Jonathan Marius was born and raised in Boston, MA. Growing up in church, he started as a drummer when he was eight and grew to be one of the lead sound technicians by the age of 14. In 2013 his mentor noticing his drive and passion brought him to Jubilee Christian Church, the largest nondenominational church in Massachusetts with now three campuses and 10,000 members and growing. Working his way from a volunteer to his current position as the Lighting Designer and Technical Director for Jubilee, Jonathan uses his passion and talents executing designs, and creating atmospheres for God to enter the room for annual events. 

 

Despite his steady position at Jubilee, Jonathan has continued to explore everything this industry has to offer.  Working with grammy nominated and winning artists, collaborating with educational institutions like Emerson College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and large churches such as Hillsong. Jonathan is an avid learner and his willingness to help has allowed for him to be exposed to so much at such a young age.

 

Graduating class of 2020 at Emerson College, with a BFA in Theatre Design & Technology, concentrating in Lighting Design;  Jonathan truly hopes to “Touch the lives of others without ever being seen.”
